From Nepal to India to United States - A student Pharmacist's journey

Abstract


Pharmacy practice differs significantly between United States and India. This article recounts a Nepalese student perspective of her “pharmacy journey”. India is still in a developing phase in terms of role of pharmacist in healthcare, while US has set standards and critical involvement of pharmacist in patient care. Here I share my experience of attending classroom sessions in US, witnessing different teaching style, student gaining valuable experience in medication therapy management as a student and my first exposure to modern hospital pharmacy and the hospice center.
