An example of sustainability

Abstract


Teaching in a third world country is a rewarding, yet daunting task. Careful planning by the educator can assist all parties to have positive learning outcomes. This article provides several recommendations to assist with such preparation. It is based on experiences with one course at a physical therapy school in Haiti, Institut Superieur des Sciences Infirmieres et de Physiotherapie. The most important principle for the development of a course in a third world country is to contemplate whether your choices promote sustainable development.
