Abstract

Cardiovascular illnesses persist to be an important threat to public health, accounting for the majority of fatalities and morbidity worldwide, with a growing burden across rural and tribal communities due to restricted accessibility to healthcare along with inadequate awareness. In honor of World Heart Day 2025, the Department of Pharmacy Practice, Nirmala College of Health Science, launched a community-based cardiac awareness and screening camp called Hridhayamritham in Kallichithra Tribal Village, Varandarapilly. The camp's goal was to discover cardiovascular risk factors by measuring blood pressure, BMI, blood sugar levels, and other vital data, which were then followed by free medical evaluation and patient counseling. reviews, screening, and health education. Clinical pharmacists took an active part in lifestyle modification counselling, authorization, lifestyle modification counselling, and health education. The initiative raised community knowledge of heart-healthy behaviours and made it easier to identify people at risk for cardiovascular disease. This curriculum emphasizes the importance of organized outreach initiatives in lowering cardiovascular risk in underprivileged communities and the important role that clinical pharmacists play in community-based preventive healthcare.
