Perceptions of healthcare professionals towards clinical pharmacists in Cambodia
Abstract
As healthcare across the globe continues to adapt based on patient's needs, pharmacists are increasingly playing a more vital role in health care delivery. These roles span across the pharmaceutical industry, community dispensing positions, compounding experts, and, finally, as a clinical pharmacist. In several parts of the world the role of “clinical pharmacist” is a novel one. In Southeast Asian countries, clinical pharmacy is in the process of defining its niche in health care systems delivering varying outcome across this region. This article explores the current state of clinical pharmacy in the Southeast Asian country of Cambodia, challenges that the profession currently faces, and the potential of clinical pharmacy in advancing medical care delivery in Cambodia.
