Diabetes is optional

Rida Khan

Abstract

This article reviews the Terry Talk, “Diabetes is Optional” by Dr. Teitelbaum. He focuses on holistic and natural approaches to managing type 2 diabetes. He promotes natural supplements such as Hintoria latiflora and grape seed extract, with lifestyle changes such as the ketogenic diet. The review looks at the science behind these approaches, showing how they may help lower blood sugar and improve overall health. The studies also show the antihyperglycemic, antioxidant, and vasodilatory effects of these interventions. While Dr. Teitelbaum emphasizes patients taking control of their health and alternative medicine, there are several limitations to its implementation. This article discusses the lack of emphasis on genetic predispositions and comorbidities. Socioeconomic and cultural differences are also important factors to consider, and oversimplifying these complex issues can lead to worsening effects for patients. This article emphasizes the importance of both evidence-based medicine and holistic care.
