Natural Approaches in Parkinson’s Disease: Exploring Curcumin, Glutathione, and CoQ10
Abstract
This paper evaluates three natural compounds, curcumin, glutathione, and coenzyme Q10, and their possible role in Parkinson’s disease treatment. Since current Parkinson’s medications help manage symptoms but do not reverse the disease, it makes sense that patients may be interested in other natural options. After comparing the claims from the Terry Talks Nutrition video with published studies, the evidence for curcumin and glutathione was mixed and not as convincing as it first seemed. CoQ10 looked the most promising, especially for patients with medication wearing-off, but the data is still early. In the end, these supplements may be useful as complementary therapies someday, but right now they should not be used in place of standard treatment. Overall, this paper shows that these supplements are interesting and worth further study, but more clinical research is needed before they can be strongly recommended.Downloads
